You'll want 16 axe and decently high strength (10 or so). Also, someone previously said they got hit by it for 107, chances are that was a critical. But yea, if you land a critical with it the damage is going to be huge.

Some random people have been spreading tales of Cleave out-dpsing Eviscerate. This is untrue (at least it is while Deep Wound's benefit is put into play) Eviscerate will do more damage. I'm not sure that if you spammed both for a long time, which one would do more.

The damage range posted is incorrect, it's 10-34.

Don't use fiery, use physical. I assume you're hitting on casters?

I got interested in this skill because of the combination of executioners strike, and dismember, only downside with this skill would be that deep wound is probably applied after the damage, anyway, you should always start any combo with a deep wound, this increases the efficiency of all following attacks by 25%

Seems that he spawns most often in the location near the bonus (don't want to give anything away). After beating this mission on my 3rd try, he had spawned in that location every time.

Swift Chop, Axe Twist, Axe Rake, Eviscerate, and Disrupting Chop is a nice combo killer (you can take out Swift and put in Penetrating if you want, either one is fine).

This has been debated before. Eviscerate is king and cleave pales in comparison. Evisceate hits at +42 and deep wound combined with executioners cleave sucks. PvE maybe the place to use it but PvP wise its better. think about it like this is constand dmg better or gross spike dmg. which is scarier to you?

Hell's Precipiece is in the Ring of Fire missions, which you can get to way later in the game.

yeah basically at the end, and another reason to use cleave at least for awhile, you get it earlier

Dismember + Axe Rake + Cleave + Executioners (Rinse and Repeat from Cleave until the conditions have worn off) would be better IMO as you would deal deep wound plus have Cleave ready twice (almost) before Eviscerate is ready.

Sorry Jimmy -- I don't follow your logic

Who cares if "Cleave" can be charged almost twice before "Eviscerate".

Look at the costs of the skills your bringing.

Cleave -- 4 adrenaline
Axe Rake -- 7 adrenaline
Dismember -- 7 adrenaline
Exe Strike -- 8 adrenaline

See what's happening :?

Your wasting 4 adrenaline everytime you use your combination normally ( the difference in costs between Exe Strike and Cleave )

Does it really matter if you can hit Cleave twice before Eviscerate. To kill anyone half-decent you'll need to hit the skills in some kind of sequential order, like this:

Dismember --> Cleave --> Exe Strike --> Axe Rake.

Fire off "Cleave" too early and all your other skills lose 1 adrenaline -- more wasted adrenaline -- oh and your "spike" gets gimped too -- since "Axe Rake" and "Exe Strike" are your only other hard hitting skills. Dismember also gets made redundant -- since all your doing is re-applying a Deep Wound.

The way that Eviscerate and Exe Strike have similar costs is a PLUS. I even save a skill slot using Eviscerate, since it inflicts a Deep Wound. In a game where we can only bring 8 skills -- that's a massive plus to have skill with dual-function.

With that extra slot I can bring "Swift Chop" or "Penetrating Blow" -- great even more +damage skills >)

Eviscerate -- 7 adrenaline
Exe Strike -- 8 adrenaline
Swift Chop -- 5e / Penetrating Blow -- 5 adrenaline
Axe Rake -- 7 adrenaline

And spike like this:

Eviscerate --> Executioner's Strike --> Swift Chop --> Axe Rake

The higher adrenaline costs between "Cleave" and "Eviscerate" are not an issue -- I hit far harder for the difference of 3 adrenaline. Using "Dark Fury" I can spike with the Eviscerate combo every four seconds. There's no excuse to bring garbage skills like "Dismember".

Eviscerate is one of the games greatest elite skills -- your making a great mistake to use Axe and not bring it...

Well when you lose that adrenline when you fire a skill you gain it back if it hits so the skill still does have its charge. I normally chain (An IAS Skill) - then the skills in this order as it charges up, Cleave - Dismember - Axe Rake - Cleave - Executioner - Normal - Cleave. I think it takes two strikes for Cleave to build back up (from memory 4 adrenaline = 2 strikes). You can add penetrating blow into the mix as well if you want it.

My Skill Bar is normally like this:

(An IAS Skill) - Dismember - Axe Rake - Cleave - Executioner - (Whatever Skill You Deem Necessary) - (Whatever Skill You Deem Necessary) - Res Sig

Of course dont qoute me on this though... I haven't played this character for awhile now, I have been enjoying playing a Mesmer in PvP

I will test this out though later... its very interesting. I normally play with Evisecerate as per build in the Guild Guidelines about axe warrior. But when I play by my own or with a PUG I normally bring what I have above into the PvP arenas.

Each to their own I guess.

Regards

IMO, best skill setting is:

Cyclone Axe (to get that adrenaline pumpin') - Penetrating - EVISCERATE - Axe Twist - Executioner's strike - 3 spots left to fill as u deem necessary...

1) Don't forget to use Axe Twist ONLY after Eviscerate
2) NO WAY should CLEAVE be an Elite, it's nothing compared to Eviscerate
